My thoughts are a shelf,
Which many take seat.
All cluttered a mess,
And not a second at ease.
These books are all blank,
And the papers are old.
Folded like airplanes,
Battered and torn.
A moment of focus,
A breath of fresh air.
To see what I've been looking for,
To see if I care.
The future is frightening,
And the present is scared.
Grasping to anything,
But the shelves are now bare.
I could sure use a hand,
To guide me along.
Find the right pathways,
Prove I'm not wrong.
I'm wrong,
All I hear is I am wrong.
This feeling is empty,
Struck down on my side.
Reflecting on everything,
and everyone.
