lyrics

At first, I was afraid to drive the night roads,
Just hoping the street lights could guide my way home.
The surface was icy and the snow covered up,
All that swerving around I could never quite stop.

Undecided if I should move fourth or back,
To that safety and comfort that I'd never had.
Where my friends and my heart both side by side lie,
The Okanagan valley is where I'd reside.

I said mmmmm.

Picking the fruits off the clementine tree,
I could stay there for hours and feel so free.
But the fruit only lasted for a year and a while,
But the taste never left me and nor did my smile.

And the water it felt as it heated itself,
And the sand on your feet as you started to melt.
My feet are in snow now and I've always looked back,
I remember that drive it was the longest I've had.

I said mmmmmmm.

I miss what there was, and 6 years seems so fast.
I’ve accepted my future, while regarding my past.
I keep this in my mind wherever I go,
That my heart will keep beating, just faster at home.
