1.
It's a little lonely here now that you're gone. Just sitting around thinking about the lives we've drawn. I meant to ask you why you believed in God. An honest man, or was it all a fraud? Just tell me all your dreams, And all your memories. Tell me what's been happening, And where you're coming from, Cause I wanna go there too. Just tell me all your dreams, And all your memories. Tell me what's been happening, And where you're coming from. Cause I'm going there too.
2.
I waited at the border line, Between the 2 and 89, With nervous thoughts it felt alright. I met you at the borderline. I was sure I saw you from a mile, My heart beating on and off in time. And ya know that time ain’t on my side right now, and I need someone. And It’s dark outside and in my heart, I’ve been struggling. Thinking of all those that I have loved and hurt all at once. I should go back and try to mend some. I’ve still got love for you my darling. I had to let that dove go fluttering. We were fixing for some trouble mmmm. And maybe the timing just wasn’t right. Or is my mind playing tricks at night? Cause when I dream I still feel alright. Well, ya know that time ain’t on my side right now, and I need someone. And It’s dark outside and in my heart, I’ve been struggling. Thinking of all those that I have loved and hurt all at once. I should go back and try to mend some.
3.
I’ve climbed the Rockies, I’ve rustled through snow for you, I’m looking for you. I’ve searched through the meadow, And picked all the flowers for you, I’m looking for you. Time doesn’t seem on our side. Are you meant to be in my design? I don’t know if I’ll ever find, Someone like you. Maybe you drove for miles, You’ve seen all the provinces, While looking for me. And maybe you’ll be in Calgary, While I’m off in Halifax, Looking for me. You know time doesn’t seem on our side. Are you meant to be in my design? I don’t know if I’ll ever find, Someone like you. I'm ready to go home. I hope you're ready to stay. All I need is to find you, Maybe someday? You know time doesn’t seem on our side. Are you meant to be in my design? I don’t know if I’ll ever find, Someone like you.

I was hopin' and a wishin', That you would come and listen, To me and all my problems, Babe, you know I've got em. I’ve been searching for answers, asking all these questions. Staying up at night and by morning I’m alright. Alright. Alright? You're the perfect kind of someone, The someone I look up to. Now every single summer, It's you I rediscover. I'd love to go for dinner, Then talk until it's winter, Warm you up at night, And by morning we’re both fine. Feeling fine. So fine! I was hopin' and a wishin' That you would come and listen, To me and all my problems, Oh baby you know I’ve got em! And you’ve got em! I'm still searching for some answers, For drugs and war and cancer. Dig for deeper meanings, While hanging from the ceiling Oh so serene. And I hope you see, the fight in me. Cause I'm still young, and I've got dreams!
5.
You gotta get up! Throw it all away, And forget about the day. I’m Holding my head, Higher than my heart. I Don’t know where to start, So I’ll start with you. Here is everything, That I have ever said. Here are all the thoughts, Inside my head. Thanks for listening, I just needed to talk. You gotta get up! Throw it all away, It will fade with the day. Holding my head, Higher than my heart. I Don’t know where to start, So I’ll start with you. Here is everything, That I have ever said. Here are all the thoughts, Inside my head. Thanks for listening, I just needed to talk. Here is everything, That I have ever said. Here are all the thoughts, Inside of my head, I just needed to talk. And I Will Try To hold My head up.
6.
Well I've been Thinking about talking To the ones I love the most, And telling hard times Are coming for both of us, And sitting around smoking Won't do us any good, We gotta keep our heads high And get out like we should Into the world, It’s right on your shoulders. You've been struggling now and then, But your friends are there to hold you.

about

I Am The Mountain have unveiled their latest album, Where You're Coming From, recorded directly to vinyl using the rare and highly regarded direct-to-disc recording method.

Where You're Coming From, to be released August 26, 2023, acts as a musical archive showcasing vocalist Colton O'Reilly's creative journey and growth as a songwriter. The album features songs written over the past decade, including a new rendition of their classic hit "While Off Adventuring," re-recorded with the full band to breathe new life into this fan-favorite from their inaugural EP released in 2015.

The A side of the record gently eases listeners into the music, adorned with introspective lyrics and sweeping horn melodies. Flipping over to the B side, I Am The Mountain reveals vibrant rock elements that capture the energy of a live I Am The Mountain performance, expertly preserved through the direct-to-disc process. Where You're Coming From culminates with the band's infectious anthem, "Out Into The World," inviting listeners to join in a spirited sing-along.

“The horn melody in ‘Out Into The World’ is actually a recurring motif in our music, conveying both the familiar aspects that people know and love about our songs, while also being a new sonic exploration that awaits their discovery,” explains O’Reilly. “The song, as well as the album itself, is about a balance between the comfort of familiarity and the excitement of something new and unknown."

Having been recorded directly to vinyl, the six-track album captures the band's live performance without any fixes, edits, or punches, resulting in pure audio that faithfully reproduces their musical talent. This method eliminates the multi-track recording and digital conversion stages commonly used in recordings, ensuring the highest fidelity to the original performance.

While direct-to-disc recording is a challenging and uncommon process, it requires the expertise of a skilled disc cutting engineer, who must make many delicate adjustments during the recording that would have typically been computer automated.
